T H E L A R G E R  P E R S P E C T I V E

Also know as Bidhannagar, it is a planned satellite city of Kolkata. It was developed in the early 60s, and currently is spread over 13 sq.km.. On average the population density is 165 persons per hectare. It was planned with similar principles to that of Chandigarh, in a sector manner. The entire area seen here is sector 1 and is primarily residential. The recently opened metro line can also be seen. It is soon becoming home to the growing IT sector employees of Rajarhat.
