Rajpath, New Delhi

New delhi, also referred to as Lutyens Delhi was panned in 1911 when Delhi became the capital of British India. Spread over 26 sq.km, it was designed by Edward Lutyen, inspired from the layouts of Paris, Rome and Washington. There is impeccable symmetry and geometry in its layout that follows a hexagonal street network, leading to round abouts. Today the area is home to central government offices, that line the central east west avenue called, Rajpath. International consulates and other high profile delegates live in this area. Its safe to say, that this 26 sq.km of territory is perhaps the most secure piece of land in India.
