Indus Ganga Basin

The two mighty rivers of Indus and Ganga has led to vast swaths of extremely fertile land in the northern part of India. Today this is one of the largest agricultural areas in the world. There are many tiny white dots. Each of those is a small hamlet of around 200 to 500 villagers surrounded by farmland. India has around 70,000 such villages.
