This port off the coast of Gujarat is a ship scrapping yard. It is the largest such port in the world, where nearly half of all scrapped ships end up here. Ships are run aground during high tide purposely, and workers dismantle each ship during low tide. The remains of large supertankers, car ferries, and container ships that are partly broken down are clearly visible here.
